Classic Hwange Safari Overview
Journey to two of the most remote and untamed areas within Zimbabwe’s Hwange National park. The game-rich plains of the Hide concession combined with the rugged hills and rock carvings of Bumbusi in Hwange National Park make for the perfect Hwange experience. Hwange National Park is the largest in Zimbabwe and is renowned for its diverse habitats, abundant wildlife sightings and fantastic birding, boasting over 400 avian species. More specifically, the park is home to some of Africa’s biggest ‘Tuskers’ which can be seen roaming the vast open plains of the park making for fascinating elephant interactions and game viewing opportunities.

The Classic Hwange package begins in Victoria Falls town with a 35 minute flight to Umtshibi Airstrip where you will be met by your safari guide and transferred by open game viewer to The Hide. On arrival, you will be greeted with a warm Zimbabwean welcome by the management team who will show you around the camp and get you settled into your beautiful rooms overlooking the waterhole. The Hide is one of the more established safari camps in Hwange and has been noted as an area of significant wildlife abundance. The camp, located in a private concession, offers guests an exceptional wildlife experience alongside a warm, owner-run hospitality experience.

After 4 nights at the Hide, you will venture to the North-Eastern part of the park for 4 nights at the remote and authentic Bumbusi Wilderness Camp. The Bumbusi safari is a perfect complimentary experience to The Hide and is well suited to the discerning safari lover wanting a remote corner of Hwange to themselves. The camp offers an exceptionally unique experience in a reclaimed corner of Hwange National Park where the various gorges, drainage lines and hills are perfect for safari lovers who like to explore a region on foot.
